Do You Feel Like There’s More to Life?
There’s this moment, isn’t there?
That whisper inside that says, there’s something more. More than the rushing, the checking off of tasks, the endless cycle of work, laundry, errands, and even the constant question: What’s for dinner? It’s this subtle but ever-present nudge, a quiet knowing deep in your bones. And once it’s there, it’s hard to ignore.
I felt it. About a year ago, I reached a point where I was doing all the things—managing life, family, work—yet something was missing. I had this heaviness in my chest, this question that kept nagging at me: Is this really all there is?
We rush, we work, we clean. We get these little glimmers of joy—maybe a sweet moment with our kids, a loving glance from our spouse, a good laugh with friends, or those few days of vacation where life feels lighter. But is 90% of our life really supposed to be spent in the doing and only 10% in the living? That felt so wrong to me. And yet, I couldn’t figure out how to break free from the rhythm I had fallen into.
Gabby Bernstein says, “Life is meant to be loved at a deeper level.”
But how often do we allow ourselves to love it that way? Instead, we run ourselves ragged, ticking off tasks, meeting expectations, wearing our busyness as a badge of honor. And in the process, we lose touch with the part of us that craves depth, craves connection, craves the richness that life has to offer.
The problem isn’t that we’re too busy.
The problem is that we’ve become human doings instead of human beings. We get so caught up in the endless cycle of productivity that we forget to just be. Our humanness—this desire to achieve, to control, to constantly stay in motion—keeps us from hearing the gentle, persistent voice of our soul. And that voice? It’s always calling us to something deeper.
I used to think healing was a destination—this place I would eventually reach where everything was perfect, and I could finally rest. But I’ve learned that healing isn’t an arrival; it’s a journey. It’s the slow, intentional process of tearing down the walls we’ve built around ourselves. These walls that keep us from feeling too much, from being too vulnerable, from experiencing too deeply.
For me, healing is like dismantling a thick, heavy wall, brick by brick. Each brick represents a belief, a fear, or a piece of pain that’s kept me safe but also kept me closed. With each one I take down, I replace it with something softer—a screen door. A door that lets the light in, lets the breeze flow through, but still offers just enough protection.
Imagine this:
You’re no longer living behind a wall, but instead, you’re open. You can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin. You can hear the giggles of your children playing, the rustle of leaves in the wind, the sounds of life all around you. The screen door is there, but it’s gentle. It allows life to move in and out, freely. That’s what healing feels like to me. A softening. An opening. A quiet surrender to the beauty that life has to offer.
But here’s the thing—healing isn’t easy. It requires us to confront our humanness. The part of us that wants to control, to protect, to keep everything tidy and safe. The part of us that believes we are only worthy if we’re accomplishing, if we’re producing, if we’re constantly in motion. But the soul—the deeper, wiser part of us—longs for softness. It longs for us to stop fighting, stop striving, and simply be. For me, working with my therapist and coach unlocked a whole new life. I was able to process where I was coming from and why I had such a desire to control. This is your invitation to find a coach you can relate to and start walking the path to a more free, joy filled life.
When we allow ourselves to soften, to open up to life, we begin to experience it in a way that is so much more expansive. Life stops feeling like a race we’re trying to keep up with and starts feeling like an invitation. An invitation to breathe deeper, to feel more fully, to connect with those around us in a way that’s meaningful and real.
Gabby Bernstein also says, “The moment you surrender, the universe can finally do its job.” And I’ve found that to be true in my own life. The more I let go, the more I allow life to flow without trying to control it, the more beauty I find in the everyday moments. It’s not that life becomes perfect—it’s that I become more present to the perfection that’s already there.
What if we allow ourselves to soften?
We’ve all been taught to build walls, to protect ourselves, to control the uncontrollable. But what if we allowed ourselves to soften instead? What if we let life in, even the messy, uncertain parts? What if we trusted that we could handle whatever came our way, not by armoring up, but by opening our hearts wider?
This is the invitation I want to extend to you today. To get quiet, to listen to the whisper of your soul, to ask yourself what it truly needs. My guess? It’s asking for healing. It’s asking for you to take down the walls, one brick at a time. It’s asking for softness, for openness, for the kind of deep, expansive living that allows you to feel your life, not just do it.
Healing isn’t a straight line. It’s a meandering, winding path that takes you deeper and deeper into yourself. But with each step, with each brick removed, you open yourself up to more love, more joy, more connection. And that’s where the magic happens. Not in the doing, but in the being.

I felt it too. A year ago, while managing work, family, and life, I realized something was missing. Even in those joyful moments—laughing with friends or enjoying family time—I wondered, “Is this it? Shouldn’t life be more than just going through the motions?”
We often become so focused on doing that we forget how to just be. The problem isn’t being busy; it’s losing touch with ourselves in the process. We stop listening to that inner voice urging us to slow down and connect on a deeper level.
I used to think healing was a destination, but I’ve learned it’s a journey. It’s about breaking down the walls we build for protection and allowing ourselves to be open. Healing feels like replacing those walls with a screen door—letting life flow in and out, while still feeling safe. It’s a softening, a surrender to the beauty around us.
But healing takes work. It asks us to let go of control and trust the process. With each step, we open ourselves to more love, joy, and connection. Life becomes less about tasks and more about living fully.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to start your own healing journey. Take down your walls, brick by brick. Let in the light. You deserve more than just enduring life—you deserve to live it fully. Ready to explore? Book a discovery call with me to see if coaching is right for you.
